Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is the least invasive way to achieve a brighter, whiter smile.

There are two different methods of teeth whitening; in-surgery teeth whitening and home teeth whitening.

In surgery teeth whitening is carried out at our Clinic in just over an hour as you sit back and relax while watching a DVD through our DVD glasses. Results are instant and after care is minimal, we only ask that you keep your diet relatively bland for the first 24 hours after the treatment.

At home teeth whitening is carried out by you at home over the duration of a one to two week period. We supply you with custom made whitening trays and whitening gel and you simply wear these for two hours for seven to fourteen consecutive days.

Many of our patients opt for a combination of the two methods. This consists of you whitening your teeth at home for four days, followed by a boost in-surgery. You also have your whitening trays to top up the whiteness of your teeth whenever you wish in the future.

We offer a wide variety of brands for our clients to choose from including Zoom!, Enlighten, Polar Office and Night and Day White.

Our team of experts are here to advise you on which method is best suited to your particular needs and lifestyle. For a free teeth whitening consultation contact us today.

Frequently asked questions

Q:

Will they look too white?

A: No, natural teeth rarely look too white. Sometimes very white crowns can look wrong because they are made of porcelain.

Q:

Will my crowns, veneers or fillings change colour?

A: No, sometimes you may need to change some of these after bleaching.

Q:

Is there pain or discomfort?

A: You may get some transient sensitivity. However, we will give you easy to use desensitising swabs to take home which work immediately.

Q:

How long does it take?

A: Two weeks from when we give you your Enlighten bleaching trays. These are thin and comfortable and must be worn in bed for 14 nights, then on the 15th day you come to see us for the second treatment which takes only 40 minutes.

Q:

Is it safe?

A: Completely, the materials used in Enlighten bleaching have been used in dentistry for over 100 years.

Q:

How long does it last?

A: Results can last indefinitely with some very simple maintenance, wearing the trays for one night every other month.
