What are dental implants?
An implant is technically the titanium post that serves as the root of the false tooth. The implant supports a restoration such as a dental crown or bridge.
Once they are restored, implants look and feel just like natural teeth.
At Lotus Dental and Aesthetics Clinic, our trained implant dentists place implants in a quick, painless and non-invasive procedure.
Benefits of dental implants?
- Have the potential to last a lifetime
- Prevent the loss of bone and facial structure which normally occur after losing teeth
- Help you smile with confidence
- Secure with no chance of slipping out of place
- Enable you to eat all the foods you love
- Easy to clean and maintain
Alternatives to dental implants
Types of dental implants/treatment options
Single dental implants are popular tooth replacements—at Lotus Dental Clinic we have placed over 11,000 implants to date.
If you need to fill in a gap in your smile left by a missing tooth, then a single implant is an excellent solution. It will add strength to your bite, maintain the alignment of your other teeth and keep your smile looking its very best.
Placing your dental implant
Here is what to expect from your dental implant treatment at Lotus Dental Clinic:Stress-Free Consultation
We will welcome you to our practice to evaluate your candidacy for dental implants. This consultation takes just a few minutes and will include X-rays and a 3D CBCT scan, which shows us the amount and quality of the bone in your jaw. From this, we will be able to let you know right away whether you are ready for dental implants. We will explain your treatment plan and schedule your appointment.
If you would like to learn more before booking a consultation, we can set you up with a remote video consultation.
Dental implant placement
In a single procedure, your Lotus Clinic dentist will carefully place one or more implants per your treatment plan. The computer-guided surgery is non-invasive and quick, so you will not even need sutures.
Your implant will be placed under local anaesthesia, so you will experience no discomfort. If necessary, we can also provide you with some mild sedation to ease anxiety during your treatment.
Dental implant restoration
What are ‘fully guided implants’?
At Lotus Dental Clinic, we place dental implants using a computer-guided technique. With this method, we will take a CT scan of your teeth and then use it to create a digital model. We will then virtually manipulate this rendering to plan your dental implant surgery with the utmost accuracy to ensure we place your implant in an area with plenty of supporting bone.
Once your implant dentist calculates the ideal angulation and depth of your implant with the computer-aided program, this information is transferred to a stent, or guide. This 3D-printed guide fits snugly over your teeth and directs your implant into optimal position. There’s no need to make a cut in your gums beforehand. The implant is quickly inserted in one safe procedure.
The benefits of the computer-guided implant technique include:
- Less treatment time
- No surgical incisions
- No sutures
- Improved accuracy (in comparison with the traditional freehand technique) to avoid damaging nerves and other anatomical structures
- Faster healing
Our Principal Dentist Dr. Frankl has over 40 years of experience placing dental implants. In the accompanying video, he explains the steps he will take to plan your dental implant treatment.

I can certainly recommend Lotus dental clinic, I am a genuine patient and I give them 4.9 stars out of 5.
I required extensive work on EVERY TOOTH, X-rays, gum treatment, bone grafting, sedation, extractions, implants the lot.
The treatment options AND costs were explained fully in advance. We spent several thousand pounds on the treatment plan and they did the work over a NINE month period and the outcome is FIRST CLASS.
The clinic is clean and the team are highly skilled. They each have specialised skills and they combine them BRILLIANTLY to provide an all round excellent service.
I was worried about having the work done but they took that into consideration and guided me through.
Sometimes the car park was full but there is ample parking available outside and in the surrounding streets. Also it was NOT the cheapest quote I received. However dental procedures can be horrendous if they go wrong so I was more than happy to pay for EXPERTISE and it was the right decision.
For us it was a GOOD experience with absolutely EXCELLENT RESULTS.

Dental implants: the healing process
You will need to rest both your body and your teeth. You cannot use your dental implant right away as it needs to heal before it is strong enough to bear weight.
We will advise you to avoid brushing or flossing around the implant site for two or more days to avoid disturbing the implant. However, oral hygiene is still important, so we recommend that you continue to keep your other teeth clean. Gently rinsing your mouth with a warm saltwater solution will help soothe and cleanse your implant site.
The technology and implant techniques we use at Lotus Dental Clinic promote rapid healing after implant placement. Even so, we will provide you with personalised instructions to ensure that your implant heals as quickly as possible.
Are implants right for everyone?
Although getting implants placed is a minimally invasive process, implants require plenty of healthy bone tissue in order to integrate with the mouth. Dental implants may not be advisable in some cases where the gums or bone are compromised.
For example, a Lotus Clinic dentist may recommend an alternative treatment if you:
- Have received radiation therapy to your jaw
- Have untreated gum disease
- Have uncontrolled diabetes
